Operating Instructions
Optiboard – the cutting board for professionals.
If you use and care for your Optiboard cutting board correctly, it will be a loyal companion in your kitchen for many years. We wish you much joy and continued success with all your culinary projects with your new Optiboard!
First steps for your perfect workstation
Before you get started, please follow these simple steps for safe handling:
- 1. Unpack & Recycle: Carefully remove the transport packaging and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way for recycling.
- 2. Remove protective film: Don't forget to remove the thin protective film on the cutting surface.
- 3. Safe transport: When carrying the solid board, ensure a secure grip. Do not drop it to avoid material damage and injuries.
- 4. Individual alignment: Place the cutting board on your table or worktop. Now turn the adjustable feet on all four sides until you have reached your desired height and tilt.
Note on construction: The adjustable feet can be completely unscrewed if necessary. For reliable anti-slip protection, special rubber rings are embedded in the lower part of each adjustable foot.
Cleaning and care in daily work
A hygienic workplace is essential. To ensure absolute cleanliness, you should thoroughly clean the board after every change of food (e.g., from raw meat to fish or vegetables).
- Usually, a thorough cleaning with warm water is completely sufficient.
- If necessary, use cleaning agents approved by the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Food and Hospitality Industry (BGN) for food preparation.
- If your machine is large enough, the Optiboard can also be washed in the dishwasher. For absolute hygiene, we recommend a temperature of 75°C here.
💡 Pro tip against discoloration:
Stubborn stains (e.g., from beetroot) can be easily removed! Apply some cooking, salad, or olive oil to the affected area and let it soak in for a few minutes. Then simply rinse the board with a suitable dish soap and warm water.
Uncompromising material quality
Quality begins with the raw material. For the production of our Optiboard cutting boards, we exclusively use materials made of high-molecular polyethylene (PE) with an enormous density of 0.93 to 0.95 g/cm³ according to DIN EN ISO 1183.
Colors: White, Natural & Green
The material in these colors fully complies with food conformity according to strict EU and FDA guidelines.
Colors: Black, Blue, Red & Yellow
For these color variants, the unrestricted EU food conformity naturally applies.
Durability: Storage and easy repair
Ideally, store your cutting board in dry rooms. Make sure not to expose it to extreme sub-zero temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods.
Experience shows that our Optiboards have an extremely long service life. Should the surface unexpectedly be damaged due to massive continuous use, the board can be easily refurbished:
- Minor damage: Can often be corrected with a commercially available sanding sponge.
- Severe damage (deep grooves): Can be completely removed by professional planing by a carpenter/joiner or by machine milling the surface.
Hygiene and safety according to catering standards
To always be on the safe side, please observe the official guidelines of the German Social Accident Insurance, Employers' Liability Insurance Association, and Occupational Safety. The relevant guidelines include:
- GUV-R 111 / Regulation – Work in kitchen operations
- BGR 111 – Work in kitchen operations
- ASI 8.20/04 – Hygiene in kitchens
- Guideline for good hygiene practice in gastronomy (DEHOGA)
An HACCP concept or a corresponding certification is explicitly recommended for the professional processing of food.
